What ER92 means on a Ariston oven
ER92 is a touch control fault code specific to Key19 on the Ariston oven's capacitive touch panel. The touch control system uses a display board that interprets signals from individual touch zones, each assigned a key designation. When the firmware detects an abnormal or unresponsive signal from the Key19 position, it registers this fault and disables normal operation to prevent unintended commands from being sent to the oven's control system.
The most common trigger for ER92 is moisture or condensation on the touch surface or behind the control panel. Steam generated during cooking can migrate into the door or panel area and temporarily disrupt capacitive sensing, causing the board to misread Key19 as stuck or faulted. This is why the first diagnostic step involves opening the oven door and allowing time for any condensation to fully evaporate before re-evaluating the fault.
If the error persists after the drying period, the next area to inspect is the inductive rubber interface layer beneath the touch surface. These rubber components transmit the capacitive signal from the glass or panel surface to the display board. A missing, displaced, or degraded inductive rubber piece can cause a permanent open or short condition on that key channel. If all inductive rubber pieces are confirmed to be present and correctly seated and the fault remains active, the display board itself has failed and requires replacement.

Common causes of ER92
- 01
Condensation on the touch panel
Wiring / connectionSteam from cooking can collect on or behind the touch control surface and disrupt the capacitive sensor for Key19. Opening the oven door and allowing the panel to dry fully often clears this fault.
- 02
Missing or displaced inductive rubber piece
Wiring / connectionEach touch key relies on a small inductive rubber component to transmit the signal to the display board. If the rubber piece for Key19 has shifted out of position or is missing, the board will register a permanent fault on that key.
- 03
Failed display board
Part replacementIf condensation has been ruled out and all inductive rubber pieces are confirmed present and correctly seated, the display board itself has likely developed an internal fault on the Key19 input circuit and must be replaced.
- 04
Physical damage to the touch surface
Part replacementCracks, heavy soiling, or impact damage near the Key19 zone of the touch panel can cause the capacitive layer to produce a false or stuck signal, triggering ER92.
