Cavity 2 temperature sensor open

Cavity 2 temperature sensor open — sensor disconnected or has a faulty connection; cooling fan will operate at high speed and heating will stop.

From Service Manual 973047, p.19:

1.Check all connections and wires to temperature sensor. Check resistance of temperature sensor; if sensor tests OK, could be control module problem; if sensor fails, replace sensor.

2.Disconnect the sensor and measure resistance at the sensor body. Expected: 10 kΩ to 12 kΩ at 77°F (25°C).

3.Check the sensor harness for opens and shorts. Back-probe the sensor pins at the control board connector; a reading outside 5 kΩ to 50 kΩ indicates a failed sensor.
