Bosch Oven Error Code E207

E207 means the door latch on the second oven cavity failed to unlock within the allowed time. The oven attempted to release the latch, typically after a self-clean cycle, but did not receive confirmation of successful unlocking within about one minute. The control board then stopped further attempts and stored this fault code. The door will remain locked until the underlying issue is corrected.

With E207 active, the Cavity 2 door is locked, which prevents normal access and cooking use of that cavity. Do not attempt to force the door open, as this can damage the latch mechanism or the door itself. Using Cavity 1, if present and unaffected, may be possible, but Cavity 2 should not be operated until the latch fault is diagnosed and repaired.

A latch motor or latch assembly replacement typically runs in the range of $150 to $400 including parts and labor, while a door switch replacement is generally less expensive. A reset is a useful first step to rule out a one-time control glitch, but persistent E207 codes require hands-on diagnosis of the latch assembly and associated wiring.

Start by allowing the oven to cool completely, then cycle power and see if the latch releases. If the error persists, inspect the latch assembly in Cavity 2 for mechanical binding or debris from a self-clean cycle. Test the latch motor for proper voltage and continuity, check the latch position switches for correct actuation, and verify door switch operation. Replace any failed electrical components or the full latch assembly if mechanical damage is found.
