E223 means the meat probe sensor in Cavity 2 has detected a temperature reading below the allowable minimum limit. The oven responds by stopping all heating in that cavity. This is a protective fault designed to prevent the oven from operating with an invalid probe signal. The error will persist until the probe is removed from the oven.

The oven will not heat Cavity 2 while the E223 fault is active, so cooking in that cavity is not possible until the issue is resolved. Removing the meat probe is the first step to restoring normal operation. Do not attempt to force the oven to heat while the fault is present, as the error exists to signal an out-of-range sensor condition.

If the fix is simply a matter of removing the probe or avoiding frozen food, there is no parts cost involved. Replacing a faulty meat probe typically costs between $30 and $80 for the part, depending on the specific model. If the socket, wiring harness, or control board requires repair or replacement, total repair costs can range from $150 to $400 or more, including labor.

Start by removing the meat probe from the oven, which should allow the error to clear and heating to resume. If the probe was used with frozen food, this is likely the only step needed.
