Communication error

Communication error — loss of communication between TCM and control module or TCM and user interface.

First step from the service manual

Check for damaged (cut or pinched) wires or loose connectors. Confirm that voltage is getting to the correct pins on the board.

Communication error — loss of communication

From Service Manual 972082, p.14:

1.Check for damaged (cut or pinched) wires or loose connectors. Confirm that voltage is getting to the correct pins on the board.

2.Inspect the communication harness between the main control and the UI board for bent pins or unseated connectors at each end.

3.Measure supply voltage to the UI board. Expected: 5 VDC at the interface connector; a low or missing rail points back to the main control supply.
