Crosley Dryer Error Code LOC

LOC on a Crosley dryer means the Control Lock feature is active, which disables all buttons on the control panel. This is not a malfunction or fault code. It is a built-in feature designed to prevent accidental operation. You can deactivate it by pressing and holding Options and Select together for 10 seconds.

The LOC code itself does not indicate any safety hazard or mechanical problem. However, while the Control Lock is active, you will not be able to start, stop, or adjust the dryer using the control panel. Unlock the controls before attempting to operate the dryer.

In most cases, clearing the LOC code costs nothing because it simply requires pressing the correct button combination to unlock the controls. If a faulty control panel or control board is causing the lock to reactivate on its own, repair costs could range from $50 to $250 or more depending on whether you replace the panel, individual buttons, or the control board itself.

To clear the LOC code, press and hold the Options and Select buttons at the same time for 10 seconds. The control panel should unlock and return to normal operation. If the code immediately reappears without you activating it, check for a stuck button on the control panel.

Unplugging the dryer may or may not clear the LOC code depending on how the control board stores the lock state. The most reliable way to clear LOC is to use the designated unlock procedure: press and hold Options and Select simultaneously for 10 seconds. This directly deactivates the Control Lock through the control board.
