Error code 41 means the Fresh Food compartment temperature sensor (thermistor) has been detected as either open or shorted by the control board. This sensor is responsible for measuring the temperature inside the main refrigerator compartment. When the sensor circuit falls outside the expected resistance range, the board triggers code 41 and may not be able to regulate the fresh food section temperature properly.

With code 41 active, the fresh food compartment temperature may not be accurately regulated, which could lead to temperatures rising above safe food storage levels. It is best to monitor the compartment temperature with a separate thermometer and limit use until the fault is repaired. Do not rely on the refrigerator to maintain food safety without confirmation that temperatures are staying at or below 40 degrees Fahrenheit.
