Identifying which specific condition is active is the first step toward resolving it.

A simple reset, such as unplugging the unit and restoring power, may temporarily clear the flashing 'E' display, but the code will return if the underlying fault condition has not been corrected. If a thermistor is open or short, a key is stuck, or line voltage remains below 90 volts, the control board will re-enter Fail Safe Mode and the 'E' will resume flashing. A reset is useful for confirming whether the fault is intermittent, but it is not a substitute for proper diagnosis and repair.
