What E1 means on a Equator dishwasher
The E1 error code on an Equator dishwasher indicates that the appliance is not receiving an adequate supply of water. This is a water inlet fault, meaning the control system has detected that the expected volume or pressure of water has not entered the wash tub within the required time window. The machine monitors fill levels through a pressure switch or flow sensor, and when the fill cycle times out without reaching the target level, E1 is triggered to halt the cycle and alert the user.
The most straightforward cause is a closed or partially closed water supply valve. The supply faucet behind or beneath the unit must be fully open to allow adequate flow. A kinked or pinched inlet hose can also restrict water flow enough to cause this fault, even if the valve itself is open. Hard water deposits can gradually clog the inlet valve screen filter, reducing flow to the point where fill requirements are not met.
Beyond supply-side issues, the water inlet solenoid valve itself may be faulty. This valve is electrically actuated and opens when the control board signals it to admit water. If the solenoid coil has failed or the valve is mechanically stuck, water will not enter regardless of supply pressure. In some cases, low household water pressure can also trigger E1 if the pressure is insufficient to open the inlet valve or meet the fill sensor threshold.

Common causes of E1
- 01
Closed or partially closed supply valve
Wiring / connectionThe shutoff valve connected to the dishwasher's water supply line must be fully open. Even a partially closed valve can restrict flow enough to trigger E1.
- 02
Kinked or pinched inlet hose
Wiring / connectionIf the water supply hose is bent sharply or compressed behind the unit, water flow will be restricted. Inspect the hose along its full length for kinks or crushing.
- 03
Clogged inlet valve screen filter
Wiring / connectionA small mesh screen inside the water inlet valve connection can become clogged with sediment or mineral deposits over time. Removing and cleaning this screen can restore normal flow.
- 04
Faulty water inlet solenoid valve
Part replacementThe electrically operated inlet valve opens on command from the control board. If the solenoid coil has burned out or the valve is stuck closed, no water will enter the tub even with full supply pressure.
- 05
Low household water pressure
Wiring / connectionIf the home's water pressure is below the minimum required to operate the inlet valve, the dishwasher may not fill correctly. Check pressure at other fixtures and consult a plumber if the issue is building-wide.
