Frigidaire Range Error Code E-0E

E-0E is a door locking error code on Frigidaire ranges. It appears when the door lock mechanism either cycles continuously without completing, or fails to engage at all during a self-clean or steam clean cycle. The control board monitors the lock motor and position switch, and sets this fault when it does not receive the expected feedback. The oven will not allow a clean cycle to run while this code is active.

Normal cooking on the surface burners or bake elements is generally not affected by E-0E, but you should not attempt to run a self-clean or steam clean cycle while this code is active. The door lock exists as a safety mechanism to keep the oven sealed at high cleaning temperatures. Running a clean cycle with a malfunctioning lock could create a safety hazard, so repair the fault before using that function.

Repair costs depend on which component has failed. A replacement door lock motor and switch assembly typically runs in the range of $50 to $120 for parts. If you hire a technician, total repair costs including labor generally fall between $150 and $300 depending on your location and the service provider. Diagnosing the harness and motor resistance yourself first can help you avoid paying for unnecessary parts.

You can also test the door lock motor resistance with a multimeter; it should read between 1750 and 1850 ohms at room temperature. If the harness is secure and the motor tests within spec, the door lock switch or the assembly as a whole may need replacement, which is a moderate-difficulty repair.

Disconnecting power briefly may clear the code temporarily, but it will return as soon as the control board attempts to engage the door lock again, typically the next time a self-clean or steam cycle is started. A power reset does not address the underlying mechanical or electrical fault. A lasting fix requires diagnosing and repairing the door lock motor, switch, or wiring.
