F7 11 indicates that the left front burner potentiometer has been detected as shorted by the range's control system. The potentiometer is the sensor inside the burner knob assembly that communicates your selected heat level to the User Interface Board. A short in this component produces an invalid resistance reading that the board cannot process, so it displays this fault code. The potentiometer, wiring, or UIB will need to be inspected to resolve it.

Operating the range with a shorted potentiometer on the left front burner is not recommended. The control board may be unable to accurately read or control that burner's output, which could lead to unintended heating behavior. It is best to avoid using the affected burner until the fault is diagnosed and repaired.

Repair costs depend on which component has failed. Replacing the left front potentiometer is typically the least expensive fix, with parts generally ranging from around $20 to $60 depending on the model.
