Frigidaire Range Error Code Loc

"Loc" on a Frigidaire range means the oven lockout feature is active, which disables all control panel keys to prevent unintended oven operation. It is not a fault code and does not indicate any component failure. The display shows "Loc" each time a key is pressed while the lock is engaged, as a notification that input has been blocked. Pressing and holding the OFF key for 3 seconds will deactivate the lockout and restore normal operation.

The Loc display means the control panel is locked, so you cannot activate any cooking functions while it is engaged. The range itself is not in an unsafe condition. Once you disengage the lockout by holding the OFF key for 3 seconds, the range will operate normally.

In the vast majority of cases, the Loc code costs nothing to fix because it simply requires pressing and holding the OFF key for 3 seconds. No parts or service calls are needed. If the control panel does not respond to this step and the lockout cannot be cleared, a service visit to inspect the control board could range from $100 to $300 or more depending on local labor rates and whether parts are required.

To clear the Loc code, press and hold the OFF key on the control panel for approximately 3 seconds. This will disengage the oven lockout feature and allow normal control panel use to resume. No tools, replacement parts, or service technician are needed for this process.

A standard power reset by unplugging the range or turning off the circuit breaker may not clear the Loc code, because the electronic control board stores the lockout state in memory and may restore it when power returns. The correct method to clear the lockout is to press and hold the OFF key for 3 seconds while the range is powered on.
