Frigidaire Range Error Code LOC ON

LOC ON means the Lock Controls feature is active on your Frigidaire range, which disables all control pad inputs to prevent unintended operation. This is a built-in safety function, not a sign of a malfunction. It can be activated intentionally or accidentally by holding the Lock Controls pad for 3 seconds. To deactivate it, hold the same pad for 3 seconds until the display shows LOC OFF.

When LOC ON is active, the range controls are fully disabled, so the cooktop and oven cannot be turned on through the control panel. The range itself is not in a dangerous condition, but it will not operate until the lock is deactivated. Simply follow the deactivation steps to restore normal use.

If the LOC ON condition is simply due to the Lock Controls feature being activated, there is no repair cost involved since it is resolved by pressing and holding the Lock Controls pad for 3 seconds. In most cases, cutting power to the range at the circuit breaker for a few minutes and then restoring it will clear the LOC ON state. However, this is a secondary approach since the proper method is to hold the Lock Controls pad for 3 seconds. If the display returns to LOC ON immediately after a power reset, the control panel or control board may need to be inspected.
