GE Microwave Error Code LOCK

LOCK on a GE microwave means the Child Lock-out feature is active and the control panel is disabled. The display shows an 'L' and no button inputs will be accepted while the lock is engaged. This is not a fault or error condition; it is an intentional safety feature. The microwave itself is fully functional and no components are damaged.

The LOCK display does not indicate any safety hazard. The microwave cannot be operated while locked, which is by design. There is no risk to the appliance or the user from the lock being active. Simply unlock it using the CLEAR/OFF pad hold procedure when you are ready to use it.

In the vast majority of cases, there is no cost at all, since the LOCK condition is resolved by pressing and holding the CLEAR/OFF pad for 3 seconds.
