The CF error code on an LG dryer indicates a disconnection in the card reader wire circuit. The control board has detected that it is not receiving a proper signal from the card reader assembly through its wiring harness. This code is most commonly seen on LG dryers configured for commercial or coin-operated use. The dryer will not function normally until the wiring issue is identified and corrected.

The CF error code relates to the card reader communication circuit and does not indicate a fire or electrical hazard within the dryer's heating or drum systems. However, the dryer will typically be non-operational or restricted when this fault is active. It is best to resolve the wiring issue before attempting to run the dryer, as bypassing error codes can sometimes mask underlying problems.

Repair costs depend on the root cause of the disconnection. If only a connector needs to be reseated or cleaned, there may be no parts cost involved, with a service call fee typically ranging from $75 to $150.
