On LG dryer models DLE5977W/B and DLG5988W/B, F0 is a diagnostic display code that appears during the built-in test cycle, specifically tied to option parts 18:FO and 19:FO in the diagnostic sequence. It indicates the display and LED system is being checked and is not a fault code under normal circumstances. Seeing F0 during a diagnostic test is expected and does not indicate a broken component.

If the dryer is in diagnostic mode and showing F0 as part of that test routine, the appliance is not in active drying operation and is safe to interact with following standard precautions. If F0 appears during normal use without the test mode being activated, stop using the dryer until the control board and display board have been inspected to rule out an electrical issue.

Because F0 is typically a diagnostic test output rather than a failure code, many instances require no repair at all and therefore no cost. If a component fault is confirmed, replacing a display board generally runs between $50 and $150 for parts, while a main control board can range from $100 to $300 or more depending on availability, with additional labor costs if a technician is hired.
