The FE code on an LG dryer indicates that the control board has detected an invalid or out-of-range power frequency from the incoming electrical supply. It can also appear when the internal circuit that monitors power frequency has developed a fault. The dryer stops operation when this code appears to protect its electronics and components.

A reset by unplugging the dryer for a few minutes may temporarily clear the code, but if the underlying cause is not corrected, the FE error will return. A persistent FE code after a reset points to either a continuing power supply problem or an internal control board fault that must be addressed directly.
