The tE code means the thermistor inside the steam generator has been detected as open or shorted by the control board. It can be caused by low water in the feeder, a failed thermistor, or a wiring issue. Checking the water level in the steam feeder is the recommended first step.

A reset may temporarily clear the tE code, but if the underlying cause is not addressed, the error will return as soon as the steam cycle runs again. If the fault was triggered by low water, refilling the feeder and restarting is an effective resolution. If a component has failed, a reset alone will not fix the problem and replacement parts will be needed.
