The control board has detected that the pump's analog-to-digital signal value is below 10 in test mode, which means the pump is not responding as expected. This error typically points to a loose wiring connection at the pump or a pump that has completely failed. The dryer will not complete a cycle until the fault is resolved.

A power reset may temporarily clear the tE5 code, but it will return as soon as the control board runs its test sequence and again reads an AD value below 10 from the pump circuit. A reset does not fix the underlying wiring or pump issue. The fault must be corrected at the component level before the error will stay cleared.

If the fix is simply reseating a loose connector, there is no parts cost involved, and a technician visit may range from around 75 to 150 dollars for the diagnostic and labor.
