LG Heat Pump Error Code E113

E113 indicates an OPEN or SHORT error detected in the MCU temperature sensor circuit. The control board monitors this sensor for a valid resistance reading, and when the signal falls outside the acceptable range in either direction, the system flags E113 and stops normal operation. This protects the unit from running without accurate thermal feedback at the main control board.

A power reset may temporarily clear the displayed code, but if the underlying sensor fault still exists, the E113 error will return once the unit attempts normal operation. The root cause, whether a disconnected connector, failed thermistor, or damaged wiring, must be corrected before the error will clear permanently.

Repair costs vary depending on the root cause. If only a connector needs to be reseated, costs may be limited to a diagnostic service call, typically in the range of $75 to $150. If the thermistor or wiring harness requires replacement, parts and labor combined can range from $150 to $400 or more depending on local labor rates and part availability.

If the cause is simply a disconnected sensor connector at the PCB, reconnecting it is a straightforward task for someone comfortable working around electronics. However, if the thermistor or wiring harness has failed, accurate diagnosis requires a multimeter to measure resistance across the sensor terminals, and the repair involves sourcing and replacing the correct part. Many homeowners prefer to have a qualified technician handle this to avoid misdiagnosis.

Operating the unit while E113 is active is not recommended. The MCU temperature sensor provides thermal protection data for the main control board, and running without a valid sensor signal could allow the board to operate outside safe temperature limits. The system is designed to halt operation when this fault is detected, and bypassing that protection risks further damage.
