LG Heat Pump Error Code E211

E211 means that a DIP switch on the branch controller is set to ON for a port where no indoor unit is actually connected. The system expects an indoor unit on that branch based on the switch position but finds none. This is a configuration mismatch, not a component failure. Setting the DIP switch for the unused branch to the OFF position resolves the error.

E211 is a configuration fault rather than a safety-critical failure. It indicates a mismatch between the system settings and the actual hardware layout. However, leaving it unresolved will prevent the system from operating normally, so it should be corrected promptly. No hazardous condition is directly associated with this specific fault code.

A simple power reset will not permanently clear E211 if the underlying DIP switch misconfiguration is not corrected first. The controller will re-read the switch states on startup and regenerate the fault. The DIP switch for the unused branch must be set to OFF before the system is restarted in order for the error to be cleared and stay cleared.

Locate the branch controller in your system and identify which port has its DIP switch set to ON without a corresponding indoor unit connected. Switch that DIP switch to the OFF position to indicate the port is unused. After making the change, power the system off and back on so the controller can read the updated configuration and clear the fault.

In most cases, fixing E211 requires no parts at all since the repair involves only adjusting a DIP switch setting.
