LG Heat Pump Error Code E225

E225 indicates that the condenser mid-temperature sensor on the outdoor unit has separated from its mounted position on the condenser coil. This sensor is a thermistor that monitors coil temperatures during operation. When the control board detects a missing or out-of-range signal from this sensor, it logs E225 and restricts system operation to prevent damage.

Running the unit with an active E225 fault is not recommended. The COND-MID sensor helps the system regulate defrost cycles and protect the compressor from operating outside safe temperature ranges. Continuing to operate without a functioning sensor could lead to compressor stress or reduced system efficiency. Address the fault before resuming normal operation.

A reset may temporarily clear the E225 code, but if the underlying cause has not been corrected, the fault will return as soon as the control board attempts to read the sensor again. The sensor must be physically reseated or replaced before a reset will result in normal, sustained operation. Always address the root cause before resetting.
