E233 indicates a discharge temperature sensor error on fixed capacity compressor 2. The system has detected that the sensor signal voltage is either above 4.95V (open circuit, corresponding to below -30°C) or below 0.5V (short circuit, corresponding to above 151°C). This fault is only detected when outdoor temperature is above -10°C. The cause is typically a failed sensor, a damaged connector, or a wiring problem between the sensor and the outdoor control board.

It is not advisable to continue operating the unit with E233 active. The discharge sensor protects compressor 2 from overheating, and without reliable temperature data the system cannot adequately safeguard the compressor. Continued operation risks compressor damage, which is a significantly more costly repair than fixing the sensor or wiring.
