LG Heat Pump Error Code E235

E235 indicates that the COND-MID sensor on the outdoor unit has broken away or lost its electrical connection. This sensor is a thermistor mounted at the mid-section of the outdoor condenser coil and monitors coil temperatures during operation. The system triggers this fault when it receives no valid signal from that sensor. The unit will not operate normally until the sensor is properly reconnected or replaced.

It is not recommended. The COND-MID sensor provides temperature data the control board uses to protect the compressor and manage defrost cycles. Operating the unit without valid readings from this sensor can result in uncontrolled coil temperatures, potential compressor damage, or incomplete defrost leading to ice buildup. The system may already be limiting or refusing operation for this reason.

If the sensor only needs to be reseated in its clip or its connector reengaged, there may be no parts cost and a service call fee in the range of $75 to $150 depending on your area. If the COND-MID thermistor sensor itself needs replacement, parts and labor together typically fall in the range of $100 to $300. Costs can be higher if wiring harness damage is involved.

A power reset may temporarily clear the displayed fault, but E235 will return if the underlying sensor connection issue has not been resolved.
