The underlying cause of the repeated freeze events must be diagnosed and corrected before normal operation can resume.

Resetting the unit may temporarily clear the H99 code and allow the system to restart, but the error will return if the root cause has not been corrected. Because H99 requires the freeze protection to trigger five times in one hour, the underlying problem is persistent and will reproduce the fault. A reset is only a useful step after you have addressed the cause, such as cleaning the filter or clearing an airflow obstruction.
