F44 means the microwave control board detected a continuous keypad input lasting more than 30 seconds. This is not considered normal operation and indicates a stuck key, contamination beneath the touchpad membrane, or a defect in the membrane or control circuit. The oven displays this code to halt operation and alert the user to the condition.

If the error is caused by debris or sticky residue on the keypad, carefully cleaning the panel surface may resolve the issue without any parts replacement. If the fault persists after a reset and cleaning, replacing the touchpad membrane or control board is required, which involves disassembling the unit. Microwave interiors retain high-voltage charge even when unplugged, so any internal work should be performed only by a qualified technician.
