This sensor monitors the control board's own temperature to protect the electronics. Because the sensor is part of the board itself, the fault points directly to the main PCB as the failed component.

It is not recommended to continue operating the oven with an active C-30 error. The fault indicates the board's own thermal protection circuit is not functioning, which means the control electronics may not be adequately protected from overheating. Discontinue use until the PCB has been replaced.

Repair costs depend on the specific model and whether you use a professional technician or perform the repair yourself. PCB replacement parts alone typically range from $100 to $300 or more depending on the model. Adding professional labor can bring the total to $200 to $500 or higher, making it worth comparing repair costs against the age and value of the appliance.

A power reset may temporarily clear the error display, but if the PCB temperature sensor circuit is genuinely open or shorted, the fault will return once the oven resumes operation. A reset does not repair the underlying hardware failure in the control board.
