This error code means the control board has detected a short circuit in the evaporator thermistor circuit on either the left or right side of the freezer. The thermistor is a resistive temperature sensor that monitors the evaporator coil. When its resistance drops abnormally low due to a wiring fault or sensor failure, the board flags this code. The freezer may not cool or defrost correctly while this fault is active.

Continuing to run the freezer with this error is not recommended for long periods. A shorted evaporator thermistor can cause the control board to mismanage the refrigeration and defrost cycles, which may result in excessive frost buildup, inadequate cooling, or food spoilage. Addressing the fault promptly helps prevent further component damage.
