ADC Washer Error Code E12

E12 on an ADC washer means the wash program finished but water was still detected inside the tub. The washer keeps the door locked automatically to prevent water from spilling out when the door is opened. You need to clear the drainage issue before the machine will allow the door to open. Pressing ESC is the correct first step to end the current program state.

Leaving standing water in the tub for an extended period is not advisable, as it can promote mold and mildew growth and may stress the pump or other internal components. The door lock is a safety feature, not a hazard in itself, but the underlying drainage problem should be resolved promptly. Address the cause as soon as possible to avoid secondary issues.

If the fix is simply cleaning the pump filter or adjusting the drain hose, there may be no parts cost at all, just the time to do the work. If the drain pump needs to be replaced, parts and labor costs typically range from around 100 to 250 dollars depending on parts availability and local labor rates. A pressure switch replacement is generally a lower-cost repair by comparison.

Start by pressing ESC to exit the current program, then check the pump filter for clogs and clean it out if needed. Inspect the drain hose for kinks or obstructions along its full length. If the filter and hose are clear, the drain pump itself may need to be tested and possibly replaced.

Pressing ESC ends the program cycle and may allow you to run a separate drain or spin cycle, but it will not resolve the root cause of the error. If the drainage problem is not fixed, E12 will return the next time a wash program completes with water still in the tub. A reset is a useful first step for diagnosis, not a permanent fix.
