This indicates the wash motor is either mechanically overloaded, binding due to an obstruction or worn bearing, or drawing excess current due to internal motor failure. The dishwasher will not complete a cycle until the underlying cause is resolved.

A reset may temporarily clear the fault code, but if the underlying condition causing the motor overload is still present, the error will return as soon as the wash cycle reaches the point where the motor is stressed. Resetting without addressing the root cause will not permanently resolve the issue and may cause further wear on the motor or control components.

If the fault is caused by a foreign object blockage, the repair may cost nothing beyond a service call fee, typically in the range of $75 to $150. A pump or motor replacement can range from $150 to $400 or more depending on parts and labor in your area. Control board replacement, if required, generally falls in the $200 to $500 range for parts and labor combined.
