Er:16 means the dishwasher was unable to calibrate its analog pressure sensor during startup. This code applies specifically to the WFMC64 and WFXD84 models. The control board runs a calibration check on the water level sensor before each cycle, and when that check fails due to a faulty sensor or a wiring problem, it stops and displays Er:16.

A reset may temporarily clear the error code display, but it will not resolve the underlying hardware problem. If the pressure sensor or wire harness is faulty, the calibration failure will occur again at the next startup and the code will return. The root cause must be diagnosed and repaired for the machine to operate normally.

If the issue is a loose or corroded connector, the repair may cost very little beyond diagnostic time. Replacing the analog pressure sensor typically runs in the range of $30 to $80 for the part, with additional labor costs if a technician performs the work. A full service call including diagnosis and parts generally falls in the $100 to $250 range depending on your location.

Start by running diagnostic test P:8, which is the designated test for evaluating the analog pressure sensor circuit on these models. Inspect the wire harness connecting the sensor to the control board for loose connectors, corrosion, pinched wires, or broken terminals. If the harness checks out, the pressure sensor itself likely needs to be replaced.

The dishwasher will not run a wash cycle while Er:16 is active, so there is no immediate water damage risk from continuing to attempt use. However, attempting to bypass the error without addressing the sensor fault is not recommended, as accurate water level sensing is a safety-critical function that prevents overfilling.
