F13 indicates a water intake fault at the end of a fill cycle step. The dishwasher's control board monitors pulses from the flow meter to measure incoming water volume, and F13 is triggered when the pulse count does not reach the required target within 4 minutes. This points to insufficient water flow caused by a supply issue, a blocked WPS filter, or a problem with the flow meter reed switch.

The dishwasher will halt its cycle when F13 appears, so it will not operate normally until the fault is resolved. It is safe to troubleshoot the cause, but you should not attempt to repeatedly force cycles through the error, as running the machine with restricted water intake could affect wash performance and potentially cause heating element issues if water levels remain low.

If the fix is simply cleaning the WPS filter or adjusting the supply valve, there is no parts cost involved. If the flow meter reed switch needs replacement, parts typically range from roughly 20 to 60 dollars depending on the model, with additional labor costs if a technician is doing the work. Replacing the water inlet valve, if that is the cause, generally runs between 30 and 90 dollars for the part, plus labor if applicable.

Start by confirming the water supply valve is fully open and that household water pressure is normal. Next, locate and clean the inlet filter on the water pressure sensor, as sediment buildup there is a very common cause. If the error persists after those checks, inspect the inlet hose for kinks, examine the inlet valve for partial blockage, and test or replace the flow meter reed switch if it is found to be sticking or producing inconsistent pulses.

A reset may temporarily clear the fault display, but F13 will return as soon as the machine attempts another fill cycle if the underlying problem has not been corrected. The control board will re-run its fill timing check and trigger F13 again if the flow meter pulse count still fails to reach the target within 4 minutes. Clearing the code without addressing the root cause is only useful as a temporary diagnostic step.
