F2 on a Bosch dishwasher signals an overfill fault, meaning the machine detected more water in the tub than expected based on readings from the pressure sensor or float switch. When this occurs, the control board activates the drain pump to remove the excess water. If the water is not drained within 60 seconds, the programme is interrupted. The fault can be caused by a blocked drain, a faulty inlet valve, a defective sensor, or a wiring issue.

You should not continue using the dishwasher until the F2 fault is resolved. An overfill condition can lead to water leaking onto your floor or into the base tray, which can cause water damage to cabinetry and flooring. Running the machine while the fault is active also risks further damage to the drain pump or other internal components.
