It is not safe to continue using the dishwasher with an active F5 error. The fault indicates water is entering the tub uncontrolled, which could eventually overflow or cause water damage to the surrounding cabinetry and flooring. The dishwasher's drain pump activation is a protective measure, but it cannot be relied upon indefinitely as a substitute for repairing the faulty component.
