The dishwasher may still run cycles with F63 active, but water distribution will be compromised, meaning dishes in certain zones will not be cleaned effectively. There is no immediate safety hazard, but continued use without repair can leave food soil and bacteria on dishes. It is best to diagnose and resolve the fault before relying on the appliance for normal use.

A reset may temporarily clear the error from the display, but F63 will return as soon as the dishwasher attempts to operate the slide shutter again and still detects no position signal change.
