The F125 error code on a Bosch range indicates that the voltage signal associated with the Cancel touch key has moved outside of acceptable operating limits. The Cancel key is part of the capacitive or resistive touch interface on the control panel, and its voltage is continuously monitored by the main control board. The fault has a built-in one-minute validation window, meaning the control board must detect the out-of-range voltage condition persistently for a full minute before triggering and storing the fault code. This prevents false alarms from momentary electrical noise or brief contact events.

The touch key circuit generates or passes a specific voltage signal that the control board reads to determine whether the key has been pressed. When that voltage drifts above or below the expected threshold and stays there, the board interprets this as a malfunction rather than a valid user input. The most common hardware involved includes the touch key panel assembly itself, the ribbon cable or wiring harness connecting the panel to the control board, and the main control board that processes the signal.

Causes range from a physically stuck or damaged Cancel key to moisture or grease contamination beneath the touch surface affecting the signal. Wiring issues such as a frayed ribbon cable or loose connector can also introduce voltage irregularities. In some cases, the main control board itself may be misreading the signal due to an internal component failure. Because the fault is checked continuously and requires a sustained one-minute trigger, intermittent connection problems are also a plausible source.
