Equator Washer Error Code E3
Fill error
Fill error - the water cannot reach the set level within the limited time.
First step from the service manual
Verify the drain hose free end is between 24" and 40" from the floor; check that water faucets are open and hoses are not kinked.
The complete diagnostic procedure includes additional test steps, resistance specifications, wiring diagram references, and component test points.

What E3 means on a Equator washer
The E3 error code on an Equator washer indicates a fill error, meaning the machine attempted to bring the water level up to the programmed set point but failed to do so within the allowed time window. The washer's control board monitors water level through a pressure switch or sensor. When the sensor does not register the expected water level before the fill timer expires, the control board interrupts the cycle and displays E3 to prevent the machine from running without adequate water.
The most common causes of this error are related to water supply problems rather than internal component failures. Low water pressure at the inlet, closed supply valves, and kinked or pinched inlet hoses are the first things to rule out. The drain hose position is also critical: if the free end of the drain hose is positioned lower than 24 inches from the floor, water can siphon out as fast as it fills in, making it impossible for the machine to reach the target level. Equator specifies the drain hose free end must be positioned between 24 and 40 inches from the floor to prevent this siphoning effect.
If supply and drain hose conditions are confirmed correct, the issue may point to a partially or fully clogged inlet valve screen, a faulty water inlet valve that is not opening fully, or a malfunctioning water level pressure switch that is misreading the actual water level in the drum. Each of these internal components requires additional testing before replacement.

Common causes of E3
- 01
Drain hose positioned too low
Wiring / connectionIf the free end of the drain hose is below 24 inches from the floor, water siphons out of the tub continuously during filling, preventing the machine from reaching the set level. Confirm the drain hose end is secured at a height between 24 and 40 inches from the floor.
- 02
Closed or partially closed water supply valves
Wiring / connectionBoth hot and cold supply faucets behind the washer must be fully open. A valve that is even slightly closed can restrict flow enough to trigger E3. Turn both valves counterclockwise until they stop to ensure full flow.
- 03
Kinked or pinched inlet hoses
Wiring / connectionInlet hoses that are bent sharply or pinched behind the machine restrict water flow significantly. Pull the washer forward, inspect both hoses along their full length, and straighten any kinks.
- 04
Clogged inlet valve screens
Wiring / connectionSmall mesh screens inside the water inlet valve connection points catch sediment over time and can become blocked enough to severely limit flow rate. Turn off the water supply, disconnect the hoses, and inspect and clean the screens at both the hose ends and the valve ports.
- 05
Faulty water inlet valve or water level pressure switch
Part replacementIf supply conditions are all correct, the inlet valve itself may not be opening fully due to a solenoid failure, or the pressure switch may be sending an incorrect signal to the control board. Either component would require testing with a multimeter and replacement if found defective.
