Frigidaire Range Error Code F030

F030 indicates that the electronic oven control board has detected an open circuit in the oven temperature sensor (RTD) probe circuit. The board cannot receive a valid temperature reading, so it disables oven heating and displays the fault code. The root cause is typically a broken wire, loose connector, or a failed sensor probe.

You should avoid using the oven while F030 is active. Without a functioning temperature sensor, the control board cannot regulate oven heat accurately, which creates a risk of overheating. Surface burners on a gas or electric range may still function, but the oven should remain off until the fault is diagnosed and repaired.

Disconnecting power to the range for a few minutes may temporarily clear the F030 code, but the fault will return as soon as the control board checks the sensor circuit again on the next power-up or heating cycle. A reset does not fix the underlying open circuit condition. The wiring and sensor must be inspected and repaired for the code to stay clear.

A knowledgeable DIYer can often resolve F030 by inspecting the sensor wiring and reseating connectors, which requires no special tools beyond a multimeter. If the RTD sensor measures open (infinite resistance) at room temperature, replacing it is a relatively straightforward repair. Control board replacement is more complex and may be better handled by a technician.
