F033 indicates that the meat probe temperature sensor has been detected as shorted or has registered a temperature above 392°F, which is beyond its rated operating range. The control board monitors the probe's resistance signal continuously, and when that signal falls outside acceptable limits, it locks out operation and displays F033. The fault is meant to prevent inaccurate cooking or further component damage.

Performing a reset by cutting power to the range for a few minutes may temporarily clear the display, but the fault will return if the underlying cause is not addressed. If the probe is shorted or damaged, the error will reappear as soon as the probe is reconnected and the oven is powered on. A permanent fix requires correcting or replacing the faulty component.

If only the meat probe needs replacement, the repair cost is relatively low, generally in the range of $20 to $60 for the part, plus your time if doing it yourself. If the oven probe socket or wiring needs repair, costs can rise to the $100 to $200 range depending on labor. A control board replacement is the most expensive scenario, typically ranging from $150 to $400 or more for parts and labor combined.

Many cases of F033 can be resolved without a technician by simply removing the meat probe, inspecting it for damage, and reinserting it fully into the socket. If the probe was exposed to very high temperatures or shows physical damage, replacing the probe is a straightforward DIY repair. If a new probe does not clear the fault, further diagnosis of the socket wiring and control board is recommended, and a technician may be needed at that point.

You can typically continue using the range for surface cooking with the meat probe disconnected, as the F033 fault is specifically tied to the probe circuit. However, meat probe-assisted cooking features will not function correctly while the fault is active. It is not advisable to ignore the fault and continue using probe cooking modes, as the temperature readings will be unreliable.
