This tells the control board the door is open or that the door lock system cannot confirm the door is secured. It most commonly appears when a self-clean cycle is attempted and the latch mechanism or door switch is not functioning correctly.

The door error is primarily a safety interlock that prevents the self-clean cycle from running when the door lock cannot be confirmed. Normal baking and broiling functions may still operate, but running the oven in self-clean mode with this error active is not recommended. Repair the underlying fault before attempting another self-clean cycle.

Repair costs vary depending on which component has failed. A replacement door plunger switch or lock switch typically costs between $15 and $50 for the part. A lock motor assembly can range from $40 to $120 depending on the model. If a technician is hired for diagnosis and repair, total costs including labor generally fall between $100 and $300.

Disconnecting power to the oven for a few minutes and restoring it may clear the error temporarily if it was caused by a transient control issue.
