F15 on a GE oven indicates a fault in the machine control upper or single door latch circuit. The control board has detected an abnormality involving the door latch motor, latch position switches, or the wiring connecting these components to the board. This error typically appears in relation to the self-cleaning door lock system. It shares the same diagnostic approach as the F14 error code.

Basic baking and cooking functions may still operate with F15 active, but you should not attempt to run a self-clean cycle until the latch circuit fault is resolved. Running a self-clean cycle requires a fully functional door latch to safely contain the high temperatures generated during that process. Disconnecting the oven from power for a few minutes may temporarily clear the F15 code, but if the underlying fault in the door latch circuit still exists, the error will return. A power reset alone does not repair a failed latch motor, damaged wiring, or a defective control board. Proper diagnosis and repair of the root cause is necessary for a permanent resolution.
