GE Oven Error Code F64

F64 on a GE oven means the main control board has lost communication with the lower temperature encoder. The encoder is responsible for transmitting temperature setting data to the control board, and when that signal is interrupted, the oven flags F64. The fault can originate from a wiring harness problem, a failed encoder, or a control board that is no longer responding on the communication bus.

It is not recommended to continue using the oven while F64 is active. A communication loss to the temperature encoder means the control system may not be accurately reading or controlling the lower oven temperature. Operating the oven in this condition could result in uneven or uncontrolled heating, and the underlying fault should be resolved before resuming normal use.
