The Fb code means the oven's control board is detecting a stuck or continuously active START key signal. The board registers that the START button is being held down even when no one is pressing it. This is most often caused by a damaged or contaminated glass touch panel, or a faulty connection between the panel and the board. The oven displays this code to prevent unintended activation.

You should not attempt to operate the oven while the Fb error is active. The fault indicates the board believes the START key is permanently engaged, which could lead to unexpected oven behavior. Disconnect power to the oven until the fault has been diagnosed and repaired.

Repair costs depend on the component at fault. A replacement glass touch panel typically runs between $50 and $150 for parts, while a control board replacement can range from $150 to $350 or more depending on the model. If you hire a technician, add labor costs of roughly $75 to $150 per hour. Checking connections and cleaning the panel first costs nothing and should always be attempted before purchasing parts.
