Seven flashes on a Lennox furnace with Control 103085 indicates a burner ignition lockout. The control board attempted to light the burners multiple times, failed to detect a confirmed flame signal, and shut the furnace down as a safety measure. The furnace will not attempt to restart until the fault is cleared and the underlying ignition problem is resolved.

The lockout itself is a safety feature, not a danger. The control board stops ignition attempts to prevent unburned gas from accumulating. However, if there is a gas supply issue or a leaking gas valve involved in the fault, you should check for gas odor and contact your gas utility or a technician promptly. Do not continue manually resetting the furnace repeatedly without diagnosing the cause.

The most effective first step is to observe a live ignition attempt to pinpoint exactly where in the sequence the failure occurs. The technician should confirm the ignitor is glowing or sparking, verify the gas valve opens and burners light, and check whether the flame sensor sends a valid signal back to the control board.
