Error code 113 indicates a fault with the outdoor unit liquid pipe temperature sensor. The control board has detected either an open circuit or a short circuit condition on this sensor. This prevents the system from accurately monitoring refrigerant temperature at the liquid line, so the unit shuts down as a protective measure.

The unit will generally not allow normal operation while error code 113 is active, which is itself a protective response. Attempting to bypass or ignore this fault is not recommended, as the control board loses visibility into liquid line temperature. Running the system without reliable sensor feedback risks operating under abnormal refrigerant conditions that could cause further component damage.

If only the connector needs reseating or cleaning, there may be little to no parts cost, with any expense coming from a service call fee. Replacing the liquid pipe temperature sensor itself typically costs between 15 and 60 dollars for the part, plus labor.
