Error code 152 means the system has shut down because the discharge temperature of constant speed compressor 1 in the sub3 outdoor unit rose to an unsafe level. The discharge temperature is the temperature of refrigerant gas leaving the compressor outlet. LG systems monitor this value continuously and trigger a protective shutdown when it exceeds the allowable limit. Diagnosis follows the CH33 procedure outlined in LG's fault code protocol.

The system shutting down due to error 152 is itself a safety response, not a hazard. The shutdown protects the compressor from catastrophic internal failure that could occur if it continued operating at excessive discharge temperatures. Continuing to attempt forced restarts without addressing the root cause can escalate damage to the compressor, which is one of the most expensive components in the system.

A power reset may temporarily clear the fault and allow the system to restart, but if the underlying cause is not corrected, the discharge temperature will rise again and error 152 will return.
