LG Air Conditioner Error Code E440
High temperature (over 30°C) of outdoor in heating mode
What the E440 error code actually means
Your LG air conditioner is showing E440 because it detected that it is too warm outside to safely run in heating mode. Heat pump systems can only pull heat from outdoor air when the outside temperature is within a certain range, and right now the system is reading temperatures that are too high for heating to work. Once outdoor conditions cool down, or if a faulty temperature sensor is replaced, the system should return to normal operation.
