E 22 on an LG RSG5B-series refrigerator indicates a fridge fan error, meaning the fresh food compartment fan has stopped operating correctly or is not receiving proper voltage from the MAIN PCB. The control board monitors fan performance and triggers this code when a fault is detected. The fan is responsible for circulating cold air throughout the fridge section, so this error can directly affect cooling performance.

Continuing to use the refrigerator with an active E 22 error is not recommended. Without the fridge fan operating, cold air will not circulate properly through the fresh food section, leading to inconsistent or elevated temperatures. Food safety can be compromised fairly quickly if temperatures rise above safe storage levels, so the fault should be addressed promptly.

Repair costs depend on the failed component.
