The code indicates that the main control board detected a problem with the ice compartment fan during operation, which can be caused by a feedback signal line contact failure, a disconnected or damaged motor wire, or a failed fan motor. The board monitors a feedback signal from the motor to confirm it is running, and any interruption in that signal triggers this fault code.

The ice room fan plays a key role in maintaining proper airflow within the ice-making compartment. Running the refrigerator with this error active means ice production will likely be impaired or completely stopped. The main fresh food and freezer sections may continue to operate, but it is best to have the fault diagnosed promptly to avoid any secondary effects from reduced airflow in that zone.

Repair costs vary depending on the root cause. If the fix involves simply reseating a connector or repairing a wire, costs may be limited to a service call fee, typically in the range of $75 to $150.
