What F-1015 means on a LG refrigerator
The F-1015 error code on an LG refrigerator signals a communication failure between the display panel and the main control board, also referred to as the MICOM (Microcomputer). These two boards continuously exchange data signals to coordinate refrigerator functions, temperature displays, and user input responses. When that communication link is interrupted or degraded, the unit registers F-1015 (identical in meaning to the Pc-Er code found on some LG models). The refrigerator may still operate in some capacity, but control panel functions and accurate status reporting are compromised.
The wiring harness and connectors running between the main PCB and the display panel PCB are the most common point of failure. A loose, corroded, or physically damaged connector can interrupt the data signal without any visible component damage. Cold temperatures inside or near the control area can cause connector contacts to contract and lose their grip over time. Technicians should carefully inspect the full length of the wire harness for pinched sections, frayed insulation, or connectors that are not fully seated.
If the wiring and connectors are confirmed to be intact and properly connected, the fault lies within one of the two circuit boards themselves. Either the main PCB or the display panel PCB may have a failed communication circuit or microprocessor component. Because these boards share responsibility for the communication link, the faulty board must be identified through substitution or board-level diagnostics. Replacing the incorrect board will not resolve the error.

Common causes of F-1015
- 01
Loose or disconnected wiring connector
Wiring / connectionThe connector linking the main PCB to the display panel PCB may have worked loose due to vibration or thermal cycling. Reseating the connector fully at both ends is the first step in diagnosis.
- 02
Damaged or pinched wire harness
Part replacementThe wire harness between the two boards can become pinched, frayed, or broken, interrupting the communication signal. Inspect the full length of the harness for any visible damage or wear points.
- 03
Corroded connector terminals
Part replacementMoisture exposure can cause oxidation on the connector pins between the display and main boards, increasing resistance and degrading the signal. Corroded terminals often require connector replacement or careful cleaning with electrical contact cleaner.
- 04
Failed display panel PCB
Part replacementIf the wiring checks out, the display panel board itself may have a failed communication component. This board will need to be replaced if it is confirmed as the source of the fault.
- 05
Failed main PCB (MICOM board)
Part replacementThe main control board's communication circuit can fail independently of the display panel. If the display panel board tests good and wiring is intact, the main PCB is the likely culprit and requires replacement.
